Another great OSCAL for sure! 🙂
OSCAL (Open Source Conference Albania) is the first annual conference in Albania organized to promote software freedom, open source software, free culture and open knowledge, a global movement that originally started more than 25 years ago.
The Conference took place at 9 May 2015 & 10 May 2015 in Tirana and gathered free libre open source technology users, developers, academics, governmental agencies and people who share the idea that software should be free and open for the local community and governments to develop and customize to its needs; that knowledge is a communal property and free and open to everyone.
We set up the Fedora booth and we were there to represent Fedora, to promote our mission and our four foundations, to answer questions and to distribute swag. A lot of people were so much interested in it and kept asking questions, which we were happy to answer.
Also the second day was crowded, full of people, like the previous day.
I represented the Fedora Project with one workshop titled “Introduction to Fedora”. My presentation was about: What is Fedora and how secure, innovative, 100% free/open and stable is this operating system. The mission of Fedora project and the strong relation between Fedora and her community. The four foundations: Friends, Freedom, Features, First. The difference of Fedora and other distros, and why we should use Fedora. Also how we can contribute at FEDORA Project.
I was glad to meet Ardian Haxha and Giannis Konstantinidis, two fellow ambassador that joined me at OSCAL to spread the word about Fedora. Giannis run a workshop titled “Fedora in Education – Yes We Can!” also one talk titled “The Fedora Community & Why You Should Join it” and Ardian run a workshop titled “Fedora Spin and Cyber Security for Beginners”.
Glad to meet so many Geeks from all over the world in the same place. It almost sounds too good to be true.
So happy to be part of OSCAL. Looking forward to it next year. Cheers! ♥
